About Me

Welcome to Committed To Myself

Welcome to Committed To Myself, a blog dedicated to helping you love yourself and cultivate high self-esteem and self-worth. Thank you for reading the about me page, which reveals a bit of my background.

My name is Nancy Badillo, the founder of Commmitedtomyself.com, a blog in which our primary objective is to empower teens and women worldwide. My primary goal is to help women reach their full potential, improve self-esteem, and to help break cycles blocking their happiness.

I began my journey as a motivational speaker after reading Steve Harvey’s book, “Act like a success, think like a success.” The book helped me identify my gift, which is the thing you do the absolute best with the least amount of effort.

My gift is helping people to get motivated. I took a leap of faith to start this journey of helping others through the gift God has instilled in me.

My Life Journey Nancy Badillo

In my household, my independence was taken from me, causing me to have poor self-esteem. Living in a house where my grandparents didn’t know how to communicate with each other hindered me growing up because you’re a reflection of your environment. I am grateful for the sacrifices my grandparents made by adopting me.

The purpose of this about me page is to give you a glimpse of my life experiences that have shaped me into the woman I am today. I was never beaten up. I always had food on my plate and a warm place to sleep. My question to you is that enough to raise a girl into a strong woman? The answer is no.

The missing ingredient was not teaching me about self-esteem. My grandparents have 4th-grade education, and it’s not their fault either since their parents never taught them about self-worth. Self-esteem is a child’s armor against the world’s challenges, but it was not for me.

Parents are the primary source of a child’s sense of self-worth. Finding my voice as an adult was challenging since I did not have one growing up. I grew up in a strict home, where you spoke when spoken to. I remember coming home from school and listening to music as my escape from my grandparent’s constant arguments over petty stuff and jealousy issues. They did love each other, but didn’t always express it? I grew up in a home where whatever you did wasn’t good enough.

As a child, I was never able to express myself or have friends come over, so my interpersonal skills were affected. The ability to communicate with others has always been a struggle for me. As a result, I have avoided groups and friendships with others due to not developing any social skills.

I grew up with low self-esteem. My low self-esteem was the underlying cause of many problems that occurred in my life. It kept me in a place of low self-esteem, so I was less willing to take on challenges and foster many unhealthy behaviors.

When it seems as if your whole life has been turned upside down, God puts a dream in my heart. The strangest thing is that I have always had the idea of breaking the cycle and being successful, and I just never knew the path to take, where it would lead me to become my best version of myself.

Discovering My Gift

After reading Steve Harvey’s book, it led me to think about what is my actual gift. I have been doing some soul searching the last couple of years, trying to figure it out.

I have broken many cycles in my life, graduated with a Master’s Degree in Business (With honors), married the man of my dreams, and even opened my own online marketing business. I am very proud of all my accomplishments but still have not fulfilled what God has destined for me.

Regardless of who we are or where we’ve come from, we’ve all been endowed with spiritual gifts. Everyone has a unique gift that is precisely useful to those around you. It hit me one day my gift is motivating others, which is fueled by my most profound passion.

Motivating others comes naturally to me, without conscious effort. This deep drive comes from my past experiences in my life. Going through life with low self-esteem is not living life. I have made it my mission in life to share my experience to shape, motivate, and inspire teens and women worldwide.

To avoid making this page a lot longer, I have given you a brief description of myself. I hope you have enjoyed reading the about me page. I look forward to getting to know all my readers and being a positive role model in your life.
